Designed by architect Nomi Bose, the Birla temple Kolkata was a dream
project of famous Birla family. The work started in 1970 culminated by
1996.
In all it took 26 years to bring it to its present form. And
finally in the year of 1996 the temple was inaugurated by Dr. Karan
Singh.
